Disaster... DIY... Melamine Paint What a Joke !


Melamine paint....what a pain in the .....well you know!!!!


I have done a lot of remodeling jobs from a stone barn into a house, and dismanteling a 1840s log cabin and rebuilding it, to a couple of victorians.....and never have I had to deal with the problems that are over taking me now....


The excuse me....crap wont dry, and after three days the cupboard frames are still sticky...so a waiting game we play...well at least I didnt do the doors....


Ill stick with the old method for those.... laytex....


Who ever come up this stuff must have never used it themselves by the way this was SICO paint, guess they lost a customer.

This paint was originally created for the manufacturers and dealers of solid melamine which would occasionally take a knock while in transit and the paint was to restore the finish - it wasnt really created for public use and wasnt available to us till much later and only through popular demand ! - ahh well.

The truth is that for some people it seems to work well and for others not.
